QWER and Bawige Deliver Positive Change Through Volunteer Work
The fan group of girl band QWER, known as ‘Bawige’ (Rock Crabs), has made an impactful contribution to society by engaging in meaningful volunteer activities. On January 8, the Babsang Community Briquette Bank announced that the fan group had donated and delivered coal briquettes in Goyang, Gyeonggi Province, to assist those vulnerable to climate and energy challenges. This initiative was part of a promise fulfilled by QWER and their fans, made after the band’s debut track “Discord” reached 30th place on the Melon Daily Chart in 2023.
Bawige’s Second Year of Coal Briquette Donations with QWER
This year marks the second time the fan group has participated in such efforts, following their briquette donation project last year. Though the QWER members could not join this year, the event saw the participation of 40 volunteers from the fan group, along with support staff, organization representatives, and the band’s management team. The fans organized volunteer recruitment via their official fan café and YouTube channel, demonstrating their enthusiasm and dedication. Remarkably, over 100 individuals applied for the event, even though it took place during a weekday, and they managed to donate 2,500 briquettes through a self-initiated fundraising effort.
