ADOR issued a detailed response to the contract dispute with NewJeans, maintaining that the contract is valid until 2029. They emphasized fulfilling all obligations and expressed a desire for open dialogue to resolve misunderstandings. Public opinions are divided, with some emotionally supporting NewJeans and others viewing ADOR’s actions as strategic preparation for a legal battle.
ADOR and NewJeans Contract Dispute Overview
ADOR, currently facing a contract dispute with NewJeans, asserted that their exclusive contract with the group remains valid until July 31, 2029. They explained that the contract, signed on April 21, 2022, lasts seven years from the group’s debut date. NewJeans, however, held an emergency press conference to announce the contract’s termination. They cited ADOR’s alleged failure to fulfill obligations and declared the contract void as of midnight.
ADOR Response to Contract Termination Claims
In response to NewJeans’ allegations, ADOR issued a detailed explanation through an official reply. They emphasized that many issues raised by NewJeans did not stem from ADOR but from third-party actions. ADOR maintained that they had consistently fulfilled key responsibilities, such as managing artist activities, negotiating engagements, and handling payments and financial settlements. They expressed disappointment that NewJeans and their families had publicly criticized the company without engaging in direct communication to resolve misunderstandings.
ADOR and NewJeans Future Plans and Producer Recruitment
ADOR outlined their plans for NewJeans’ future activities, including a domestic fan meeting scheduled for March, a regular album release between June and July, and a world tour starting in August. They also revealed efforts to recruit new producers to support NewJeans’ artistic growth. ADOR stated their commitment to ensuring NewJeans retains its unique musical identity by securing A&R (Artist & Repertoire) and conceptual planning resources. They expressed a strong desire to hold discussions with NewJeans to finalize these plans, hoping to resolve issues through dialogue.
Specific ADOR Response to Allegations Raised by NewJeans
ADOR addressed several specific allegations made by NewJeans. Regarding the controversial phrase in HYBE’s internal report suggesting abandonment, ADOR clarified that this was misinterpreted. They explained that the report predated the debut of another group, and the language referred to creating distinct identities rather than abandoning NewJeans. Concerning the claim that member Hanni faced disrespectful remarks from another label’s manager, ADOR reported a thorough review of CCTV footage and entry records. They found no significant incidents beyond a simple greeting.
Community Reactions to the ADOR Response
The ongoing conflict has triggered intense debate within Korean online communities. Supporters on platforms like theqoo criticized ADOR and showed unconditional support for NewJeans, often without rational analysis. In contrast, more neutral forums such as MLBPARK offered objective assessments. They speculated that ADOR is meticulously documenting its actions in preparation for a potential lawsuit. This approach could give ADOR a strategic advantage over NewJeans, whose public statements have been emotionally charged. As the conflict continues, industry observers predict prolonged tensions between the two sides.

As much as I stan NJ, having a press conference before Ador’s response was basically shooting myself in the foot. Basically, Ador made it clear they have zero intention of terminating the contract and that the girls have no legal grounds to do so. We all know what this means for them. If the court rules in Ador’s favor (which it probably will), they’ll be stuck sitting on the shelf for the rest of their contract. 💔 Total nightmare scenario. This is gonna get messy. 😩
